Client Objectives:
To secure new premises within the community heart of Thrapston and the simultaneous disposal of the old premises.
Development Solution:
This 703 sq m medical centre development created accommodation for:
- A four GP surgery,
- Three practice nurses,
- Attached community staff.
In conjunction with a local housing development, a site had been earmarked with planning permission for a new medical centre. However, it was not the preferred location for the practice and NHS. Consequently, Brackley identified a preferred site adjacent to other leisure, health and social care facilities and obtained planning consent. The developed site is in a flood protection zone and we delivered a technical flood mitigation solution in order to protect the building.
The project started on site in April 2010 and was completed in March 2011.
